User katiemsmith (who has seen Moulin Rouge a spectacular 64 times!) recommends, “Royal Circle to appreciate the spectacle, or Stalls to feel more immersive.”
- Stalls Rows D-J (approx. £102-360). Enjoy a close-up view of the show’s impressive costuming and set, with enough distance to take in the wider spectacle across the auditorium.
- Royal Circle Rows A-D (approx. £119-£137). These give excellent overviews of the whole stage without feeling too distant – choreography is a real highlight from here, particularly at the beginning of the show.
- Can Can Tables (from £102-210).“For Moulin Rouge, the closer the better,” says user if-my-friends-could-see-me-now (who’s a frequent visitor, having seen Moulin Rouge 20 times!). Can Can seats are up close and personal – some elements may be missed due to proximity to the stage, but you’re fully immersed as dancers parade past you on the catwalks.
Also Consider: Seats to the sides of the Stalls. Prices range from £102-138 for rows J-O, offering good views of the stage at up to 54% cheaper on certain dates.
Best Cheap Seats
Is your budget more bohemian poet than wealthy Duke? Don’t worry, cheaper seats for Moulin Rouge will still have you can-can-ing all the way home. The best place for cheap seatsis toward the rear of the Grand Circle. User if-my-friends-could-see-me-now says “The Piccadilly isn’t huge, so sitting right at the back of the Grand on the higher seats is still a good unobstructed view”.
- Grand Circle Row H-L (from £29.27). Audiences say that although these seats are high up, they still offer a good overview of the stage at excellent value for money. User austinldn said Grand Circle Row M12 was “great value for the price you pay for the seat”. It’s worth bearing in mind that some action on the catwalk that protrudes from the stage may be missed when sitting up in this area. Vertigo sufferers should also beware – the Grand Circle is a bit steep.
Best Seats For Special Occasions
Whether it’s for a birthday, hen do, date night, or if you just want to make your visit to Moulin Rouge feel extra special, we advise opting for the Stalls Can Can Tables (from £102), right at the front of the theatre.
With their own cabaret-style table and proximity to the stage, you feel immersed in the action. Theatregoer andreeas2 said of Can Can Table G14, “The interaction you get from the cast is incredible. I cannot fault it. 100% worth the money.”
Be aware that the immersion does mean some unconventional visibility: user if-my-friends-could-see-me-now warns, “Depending on which Can Can seats you are [in], you might have to turn around to see action behind you.”
Seats to Avoid
While best vs. worst seats are highly subjective, some users say sitting in restricted-view seats in the Royal Circle or Grand Circle might make your heart cry.
- Royal Circle Row L (from £48). User katiemsmith recommends avoiding this row because “there is standing room behind, and it can be distracting”. The very back of the Royal Circle also has restrictions due to the overhang above. User if-my-friends-could-see-me-now, who sat in Royal Circle L15, said the “overhang meant that you missed some of the dramatic entrances”.
- Royal and Grand Circle Rows A-B (from £70). Some seats in the front rows of both Circles have extra restrictions due to safety rails. While you can lean over these, those seeking comfort may want to give these seats a miss.
Hidden Gems
Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but these hidden gem seats are a theatregoer’s. Our users highly recommend seats in the Grand Circle.
- Grand Circle Rows A-G (approx. £48-£55). As the theatre is comparatively small, seats towards the front of the Grand Circle offer a good overview of the stage for a lower cost. Just beware of safety rails in rows A and B
- Grand Circle Rows H-L (from £29.27). These back rows offer great views despite the height. Grand Circle H25offers a brilliant view of the stunning set dressing and proscenium arch.
