New Cast Announced for Hadestown in London

The new West End cast of Hadestown has just been announced, with the show celebrating its 1000th performance at the Lyric Theatre this week. The latest collective of cast members includes international singer Nathan Sykes as Orpheus and Shaun Dooley as Hades who will join the show from 15 September.

The New Hadestown Cast

• Persephone – Danielle de Niese
• Hades – Shaun Dooley
• Eurydice – Fayth Ifil
• Hermes – Malinda Paris
• Orpheus – Nathan Sykes

Danielle de Niese will play Persephone. She is an internationally acclaimed soprano and broadcaster who has performed around the world with all of the leading opera companies and orchestras. Earlier this year she won the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Opera.

Shaun Dooley will play Hades. His extensive television and film credits include Mr Bates Vs The Post Office, It’s A Sin and Broadchurch. He has starred in many theatre productions, including Jez Butterworth’s Hills of California.

Nathan Sykes will play Hermes. He earned international success as a member of The Wanted and has also launched himself an acclaimed career as a solo artist.

This new company will join Melanie Bright, Spike Maxwell and Lauran Rae as the Fates; Femi Akinfolarin, Michelle Andrews, Gabriela Benedetti, Ollie Bingham and Sebastian Lim-Seet as the Workers, with Juan Jackson, Oisín Nolan-Power, Lindo Shinda, Jasmine Triadi and Milly Willows as Swings.
