About the Sister Act Musical

Deloris van Cartier is more disco diva than devout, but when she witnesses a murder her life turns upside down. Hidden in the austere halls of a convent for her own safety, under the disapproving eye of Mother Superior, Deloris soon finds an unlikely calling with the convent choir.

The Sister Act musical is a hilarious and heartwarming story about finding your voice and embracing your sisterhood, based on the hit film starring Whoopi Goldberg. There isn’t a more soulful and uplifting show in London, so don’t miss the return of this sensational musical in 2024!

What songs are in the Sister Act musical?

Sister Act features a Motown, soul and disco-inspired score by Academy Award winner Alan Menken. Songs including "Fabulous, Baby", "Raise Your Voice", and "Spread the Love Around" promise a divine time at this hit show, which has already entertained half a million on a UK tour.

Alan Menken is best known as the composer behind some of the most iconic and memorable songs from Disney films including Hercules, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, as well as Little Shop of Horrors and Newsies. He is one of just 18 people to have won the EGOT - an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award.

Alexandra Burke in Sister Act

Acclaimed singer and musical performer Alexandra Burke stars as glamorous Deloris.

Chart-topper Alexandra Burke most recently appeared in the London Palladium’s 2022 pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. Her other stage credits include a previous stint in Sister Act in 2016, The Bodyguard and Chess opposite Michael Ball.

Further casting includes Lesley Joseph (Birds of a Feather; Annie) as Mother Superior; and Lee Mead (We Will Rock You; Chicago) as Eddie Souther.

So many stars! I hadn't realised Lemar was in it until afterwards. Lea Mead only gets a couple of numbers. All good though because Ruth Jones provides plenty of laughs and Alexandra Burke is VERY good.
