What Is Tango After Dark About?
The theatrical experience draws inspiration from Astor Piazzolla, a popular Argentine tango composer who revolutionised the dance in the 1960s and 70s by incorporating elements of jazz and classical music. Tango After Dark takes this strong influence and immerses audiences into the heart of Buenos Aires. It is performed by ten of the world’s finest dancers alongside a live orchestra of five musicians and two singers.
The History of Tango After Dark
Tango After Dark made its world premiere in London at the Peacock Theatre back in 2018, where it sold out its run. It returned to the same venue a few years later in 2022. This electric dance show has gone on to play across the globe and been praised by well-known celebrities like Simon Cowell, Jennifer Lopez and Heidi Klum. Recently, the show has been playing to packed out venues in Canada and the US on a tour this year.
