Situated in the centre of Woking, the New Victoria Theatre first opened in 1992 and quickly established itself as one of the country’s top touring venues, thanks to state of the art facilities and a modern, comfortable auditorium. The venue is owned by prolific live-theatre company Ambassador Theatre Group and welcomes a varied schedule of events to its stage every year.
Located next to Woking Shopping Centre, New Victoria Theatre is part of an entertainment complex which also features the smaller Rhoda McGaw studio theatre and the six-screen Nova cinema. As one of the largest receiving theatres outside of London - with a capacity of around 1,300 - it is well-known for hosting touring productions of major West End musicals, including Chicago, Cats and Miss Saigon . The venue has also hosted work from the Royal Shakespeare Company, Glyndebourne opera on tour, and Scottish Ballet. Its annual programme features a mix of plays, musicals, dance, stand-up comedy, and a popular Christmas pantomime.
