Situated in the centre of Woking, the New Victoria Theatre is a short walk away from Woking Station. One of the newer regional venues in the UK, the theatre first opened in 1992 and quickly established itself as one of the country’s top touring venues. Featuring state of the art facilities and a modern, comfortable auditorium, the venue is owned by prolific live-theatre company Ambassador Theatre Group, who manage over 50 commercial venues across the globe. With a decent seating capacity of 1,300, the New Victoria Theatre boasts a bold blue interior and expansive stage.
Well-known for hosting large-scale musical tours, including Chicago, Cats and Miss Saigon, the venue regularly hosts comedies and children’s shows, as well as an annual Christmas pantomime. With a range of views on offer, the auditorium is split across three levels; the Stalls, Royal Circle and Upper Circle. The Stalls is the largest section in the theatre, with the Royal Circle and Grand Circle being of similar size and both featuring Boxes that can be booked in advance. Rows curve slightly around the stage, allowing for good sight-lines throughout the theatre, even at the ends of rows.
Good value seats
Bargains can be found throughout the theatre, particularly in the Upper Circle, where legroom is limited but views are very good. Seats at the rear of each section and at the ends of rows may also be cheaper, but will still offer an excellent view of the entire stage.
Views are good throughout the New Victoria Theatre, with premium experiences available in the mid-front of the Stalls, notably in rows A-H, and the very front of the Royal Circle in rows B-D. Sitting centrally will ensure the best possible views are on offer.
