101 Dalmatians in London!

101 Dalmatians The Musical is sure to set toes tapping and tails wagging. Coming to Hammersmith's Eventim Apollo for a strictly limited run, this paw-some new family musical is feelgood fun, for young pups and old dogs alike!

Jam packed with side-splitting new songs, with music and lyrics by award winning composer Douglas Hodge, book by Johnny McKnight and adaptation by Zinnie Harris, 101 Dalmatians features breathtaking puppetry, super cute puppies, and stunning choreography. You’d be barking mad to miss it!

What is 101 Dalmatians about?

Dalmatians Pongo and Perdi are living the doggie dream - they have kind owners, a cosy home, and all the walkies and treats they could want. All they need is a puppy to make their family complete, so the dogs are thrilled to learn that they’re expecting a litter. But when the puppies are born, the family are shocked - no one predicted one hundred and one pups! The dalmatian's perfect lives are shaken up when vicious fashionista Cruella de Vil gets wind of the puppies - and decides they’d be perfect for a fabulous new fur coat. Things start to get ruff, and Pongo, Perdi and their pups must fight back.

This classic story has been previously adapted as an animation and a live action movie, and this brand new musical version is based on Dodie Smith's original 1956 children’s novel. In 101 Dalmatians the musical at the Eventim Apollo, Pongo, Perdi and the pups are brought to life by expert puppeteers alongside an all singing, all dancing cast.

Who are the cast and creatives of 101 Dalmatians?

Casting is yet to be confirmed for 101 Dalmatians, but stay tuned to spot the cast as soon as they’re announced!

Who doesn’t love a villain? We can’t wait to see who takes on the devilish role of Cruelle de Vil next! Whoever steps into the role will have a big fur-coat to fill - “mean enough to scare the spots off a pup!” Cruella was played by Glenn Close in the beloved 1996 live action adaptation of 101 Dalmatians, and given a softer side by Emma Stone in 2023’s prequel Cruella, whilst Kate Fleetwood, Kym Marsh and Faye Tozer have previously tackled the part on stage.

This brand new musical is based on author Dodie Smith’s classic, heartwarming book, and adapted from Zinnie Harris’s (The Duchess, Meet me at Dawn) stage version, with a book by National Theatre of Scotland Associate Artist Johnny McKnight (No Love Songs, Rubble) and music and lyrics by Stiles and Drewe Best New Song Award winner Douglas Hodge (Cowley Road Songs, Nightbus).

Dodie Smith was a children's author and playwright, best known for such beloved books and plays as I Capture the Castle, The Starlight Barking and Dear Octopus.

Absolutely brilliant show and really funny acting (especially by Aston (who recognised me & saw my phone case during the encore)) and the puppetry was amazing and the real puppy at the end was really amazing and made both me & my carer cry and then I Read more

Really good work by all the cast. Not sure the stunt (celebrity) performers were needed or added anything, but the whole cast provided great entertainment and laughs (and ooos) for the kids and adults alike.

The puppetry is very clever. Some good singing too. Some odd "guest stars", but they are playing fools, which is rather fitting and unlikely to go wrong. All in all a fun way to introduce kids to live entertainment.
