Get ready for festive chaos courtesy of Nick Mohammed (Ted Lasso) and an all-star comedy cast in his irreverent new version of A Christmas Carol. This time, it’s not Scrooge who’s feeling miserly, it’s Santa! Written by and starring Mohammed as eccentric alter-ego Mr Swallow, A Christmas Carol (ish) in the West End is an inventive take on the story of redemption and festive spirit. With music, dancing and a stockingful of laughs, catch this quirky show at Soho Place Theatre.

About A Christmas Carol (ish)

When Santa decides to cancel Christmas on Christmas Eve and leave children around the world without their presents, he is visited by three ghosts. They convince him to jump back in the (sleigh) saddle, but will he have enough time to spread Christmas magic with only one working reindeer to help?!

Get ready to jingle, jangle and laugh out loud as Santa desperately tries to get Christmas back on track.

Nick Mohammed in A Christmas Carol (ish)

Emmy Award-winning actor and writer Nick Mohammed stars in this playful new version of a well-worn classic. Mohammed, best known as Nathan Shelley in Ted Lasso, has performed as his “surreal and sharply amusing” (WhatsOnStage) alter-ego Mr. Swallow for over a decade across television, stage and radio. He brings the flamboyant, outlandish character to the West End for the very first time in A Christmas Carol (ish), following its sold-out development run at Soho Theatre in 2022.

Cast and Creative Team

Nick Mohammed is joined by an all-star cast of top British comedians and actors for his foray into the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Fresh from the final season of BAFTA-nominated comedy Ghosts, Martha Howe-Douglas features in the cast, alongside David Elms (Borderline) and Kieran Hodgson (Two Doors Down).

Matt Peover (The Wind in the Willows UK tour, Shakespeare’s Globe: The Comedy of Errors) directs, with music by Oliver Birch and set design by Fly Davis. Together, they pull off a vibrant and energetic performance that pays homage to Dickens with a heavy dose of humour, fun and satirical comedy.

This is a comedic version of the Dickens story, with Santa replacing Ebanezar. A bit of slapstick humour, which, let’s face it, we all need atm
