A View From The Bridge Tickets: A Gripping American Classic

BAFTA award winner Dominic West (The Affair; The Wire) takes on the towering role of Eddie Carbone in a revival of Arthur Miller’s devastating masterpiece about illicit desire and sexual jealousy, A View From The Bridge. This star-studded play sold out in an hour at Theatre Royal Bath earlier this year, so don’t wait to book tickets for its strictly limited season at Theatre Royal Haymarket!

About A View From The Bridge

Brooklyn longshoreman Eddie Carbone is a decent man. He has brought up his niece Catherine as if she were his own daughter, and is fiercely protective of the young woman. But when she falls for the overtures of charismatic Rodolpho - his wife’s Italian cousin who has been welcomed into their home - a fit of disturbing sexual jealousy and possessiveness explodes from Eddie. Soon, New York’s close-knit community of Italian-Americans is shocked to its core by the tragedy that unfolds.

A View From The Bridge is one of American playwright Arthur Miller’s (The Crucible; Death of a Salesman) most famous works. With its powerful and discomfiting story of relationships in the extreme, this timeless masterpiece showcases Miller’s talent for confronting taboo topics that linger long after you have left the theatre.

I hadn't seen this one before. I like the way Miller plays with form, by having a 'chorus' figure comment on the events and the main character. And it has quite the touch of melodrama about it. Dominic West is excellent and I've never seen a brigh Read more

Wonderful play that can be too swiftly given very uncharitable interpretations of actions and motivations. Dominic Wise cleverly adds nuance and attracts sympathy for a man, who, maybe, is just doing the best he can - although modern audiences maybe Read more

Superb powerful acting. The play is powerful and the themes are as relevant to today as to the period it is set in. Although set in Brooklyn the themes are universal.
