One of the UK’s favourite doctors-turned-comedians is back in the West End this year for a limited time only, and he has even more stories from the frontlines of the NHS. Adam Kay Undoctored is the record-breaking follow-up to This is Going to Hurt that will leave you laughing and crying at the Lyric Theatre.

About Adam Kay Undoctored

This brand new stage show is based on Adam Kay’s book Undoctored: The Story of a Medic Who Ran Out Of Patients. When Kay left the NHS, he couldn’t quite leave all things medical behind, and in a series of funny, sometimes painful, and often painfully funny, he brings the ups and downs of a life previously spent on the wards to the West End.

Fans of Kay can also expect the infamous “degloving” story, and if you don’t know what that is, you will have to watch Undoctored to find out!

Fellow comic Charlie Brooker sums it up: “‘Very funny and very moving – Adam Kay has done it again.”

Who is Adam Kay?

Adam Kay is a BAFTA Award-winning comedian, author, screenwriter and former junior doctor who shot to fame with his debut memoir, This is Going to Hurt. With stories taken from his diaries whilst studying and working in the NHS, Kay struck a chord with his witty, cringy, irreverent and loving stories about the people he treated and worked with.

This is Going to Hurt sold three million copies and was adapted into a BAFTA-winning BBC series starring Ben Whishaw. It has entertained live audiences up and down the country with several tours, and was followed by the equally successful Twas the Nightshift Before Christmas.

Undoctored was published in 2023 and the stage show comes to London direct from a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Featuring funny anecdotes, some musical asides, and beneath it all a real passion for the world’s oldest national health service, if you book tickets for an Adam Kay show you will leave feeling entertained, inspired and thankful!
