See the final part of the triumphant Death of England trilogy as Closing Time comes to the West End. Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Erin Doherty star as mother and daughter-in-law in Roy Williams and Clint Dyer’s “fierce and moving” (The Observer) drama about two women who confront the tensions in their relationship with each other and with Great Britain.

The series premiered individually at the National Theatre from 2020, starring Rafe Spall, Michael Balogun, Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Hayley Squires, and now audiences have the chance to see all three performed in one night with tickets also available for Death of England: Michael and Death of England: Delroy.

About Death of England: Closing Time

There are two sides to every story - that’s how the saying goes. Struck down by the loss of their family shop and with their dreams in tatters, Denise and her daughter-in-law Carly are left picking up the pieces of their relatives’ mistakes.

The third part of the acclaimed Death of England series, Closing Time sees Michael’s sister and Delroy’s partner and mother come together on stage, in a thought-provoking drama that explores family dynamics, race, colonialism and cancel culture.

The “riveting” (The Stage) show premiered at the National Theatre in 2023, starring Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Hayley Squires. In the West End, Duncan-Brewster reprises her role as Denise, opposite Erin Doherty (The Crown) as Carly.
