The electrifyin’ musical classic is back

We’ve got chills, and they’re multiplying, because hit musical Grease is back, filling the West End with the rev of car engines and the melodies of teen romance.

After enjoying a whirlwind romance over the summer break, leather-jacket toting Danny and sweet girl-next-door Sandy get an unexpected reunion when she transfers to Rydell High for her senior year. Can their young love survive the trials and tribulations of teenage life?

Grease is one of the world’s most popular and iconic musicals. Its irresistible score is packed full of hits, including “Summer Nights”, “Greased Lightnin’” and “You’re the One That I Want” - made famous by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John’s duet in the 1978 film.

This exciting new production and young cast brings fresh energy to the classic show, directed by Nikolai Foster and featuring special guest artists - including Peter Andre at selected performances. Jason Donovan will appear as the Teen Angel at various performances, with his full schedule available below. Arlene Phillips choreographs, bringing grit and added glamour to the musical.

Excellent production and actors. Happy memories watching this recreated from the original film of 1976. Shame that audience is told not to sing a long til the last 2 minutes ... but perhaps that could be a bonus!

A great mix of the musical and the movie, with wonderful acting and singing. I was lucky to have both Peter Andre and Jason Donovan in the show and it added to the atmosphere in the theatre. Just wish there was more between Sandy and Danny as I didn't find myself rooting for them to be together.

Very fun show, definitely something that’s worth checking out if you like the source material! The only part I didn’t like is how they changes Sandy’s story arc a bit, making a lot of her songs feel like they come out of nowhere. Still, super fun show!

I love Grease, it's a totally classic. Peter Andre was spectacular in his role and looks like he's having loads of fun. The cast are all fantastic. There has been some changes to the show since I last saw it on tour a few years ago and I personally thought that at moments it lost its spark and energy a little bit. However it's a really good show with a really awesome cast and the great score we know and love. If I'm really, really honest, I have seen better productions of Grease, but this is entertaining and fun. Overall I really enjoyed it.

Peter Andre was spectacular. He can act, dance and sing! Sandy as a brunette didn’t make it for me. When the cast came on, I struggled a bit to know who was who! They all looked similar apart from Frenchie with her pink hair. All in all, a very lively and fun musical. They will announce to people to not sing during the performance. Because at the end, they will have a mash up of songs for audience participation. Fun!

The order of the songs and the individual scenes is, according to my wife, widely different from that in the 1970s film version but, unless you are a diehard fan who would notice and be upset by these changes, it is a thoroughly enjoyable show. As we saw it early in the run, there were a few technical issues with "mike volumes", but nothing that massively detracted from the overall show.
