Groundhog Day Tickets

Old Vic Theatre

Tim Minchin’s Olivier Award-winning musical of the film returns to London for a second hit season, starring Andy Karl.

Tim Minchin’s sensational musical returns

It’s a musical audiences wanted to see again, and again, and again… and now Tim Minchin’s Groundhog Day is back at the Old Vic Theatre for a second, strictly limited season in summer 2023.

Phil Connors isn’t a great guy, but sometimes things can change. When the miserable Pittsburgh TV weatherman is sent to cover an unconventional Groundhog Day event in the small town of Punxsutawney, he finds himself stuck in a time loop. Forced to live the same 24 hours over and over, Phil is thrown onto a hilarious journey of reflection and redemption.

Based on the 1993 film, the Groundhog Day musical has songs by Tim Minchin (Matilda the Musical), a book by Danny Rubin and is directed by Matthew Warchus (Pride; Matilda the Musical). During its world premiere in 2016, Groundhog Day tickets flew out of the door and the show won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical.

Olivier Award winner Andy Karl returns as Phil Connors, with further Groundhog Day London cast to be confirmed.

This hilarious but touching story of love and transformation finally returns to London, so don’t waste your next 24 hours: book tickets for Groundhog Day now.

My second time seeing this show. Or is it my first, and I’m unaware I’m stuck in a repetitive loop? I am wearing the same shirt though - a deliberate move, or have I not gone past August? Being so close to the action, and being aware of the ‘how did Read more

Based on the 1993 movie starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell in the lead roles, this is a very clever and memorable stage version. It’s a romcom musical that’s far more adult than its movie parent. Phil Connors, a cynical weatherman, is resigned Read more
