Getting into the VenueAccess to Hackney Empire is step-free directly to the Stalls via Mare Street, and there is a step-free entrance on Wilton Street that takes you to the lift. The Upper Circle and Gallery must be accessed from Wilton Street, and the lift can take you to these levels.
There is step-free access to the front Stalls, and seven wheelchair spaces in the back row.
The Dress Circle is located up 25 steps from the foyer, with further steps between rows once in the section. There is level access to Box J and Box K via the lift, and wheelchair users may be able to book spaces in these Boxes.
The Upper Circle is located up 52 steps from the ground floor or via the lift. All rows are stepped and there is a handrail on the wall. There are no wheelchair spaces in this section.
The Gallery is up 87 steps from the ground floor or via the lift. All rows are stepped and there are handrails in the central aisle and on the walls. The section comprises unallocated bench seating with no backrests.
Customer AssistanceFront of House staff at Hackney Empire Theatre can assist with moving through the venue and getting to your seats. Please ask for more information when you arrive. If you are attending with an assistance dog, please contact the venue ahead of time.
There is at least one accessible toilet on each level of the theatre. Front of House staff can direct you to these.
The cloakroom is located on the ground floor level of the venue, and you can store items here for the duration of the show.
Refreshments can be pre-ordered from the bar, and staff can assist with getting these to your seats where necessary. Bars are located at the back of each section, and there is also a champagne bar at the entrance to the Dress Circle.
