Get in losers, we’re going to the West End! Mean Girls the Musical is hitting the Savoy Theatre in 2024, after becoming Queen Bee on Broadway and US tour. Based on the hit 2004 American teen comedy film of the same name, Mean Girls features a book by original screenplay writer Tina Fey, music by Fey’s husband and three-time Emmy Award winner Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde ).
The film, which originally starred Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried, has spawned countless internet memes, catchphrases and even its own date in the calendar – October 3rd, if you didn’t know!
What is Mean Girls about?
Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady devises a plan to end Regina's reign, she learns the hard way that you can't cross a Queen Bee without getting stung.
Mean Girls opened on Broadway in April 2018, following out-of-town try-outs in Washington, DC in October 2017. The Broadway production garnered twelve Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.
Fans of the film can expect all of the cat-fights, all of the hilarious jokes, and all of the best moments from the screen on stage, made even more totally fetch by songs including “Apex Predator”, “Meet The Plastics” and “Revenge Party”.

Brilliant show. Very funny and witty. If you’re a fan of the film, you’ll love this show. Some great songs and performances from all. The guy who played the GBFF and the “Dumb girl” were incredibly funny!
