Get ready to set sail on a sun-soaked Caribbean adventure with joyous kids show Mermaids and Pirates. Coming to the St Martin’s Theatre, the home of The Mousetrap in the heart of Seven Dials, for a strictly limited run this summer, this feel-good family musical is full of Caribbean tunes, larger-than-life characters, and plenty of chuckles, as a rag-tag group of mermaids and pirates must work together to save the day.
What Is The Kids Show Mermaids and Pirates About?
When a bumbling band of pirates, led by their captain Long Gone Silver, discover Treasure Island while sailing the high seas, they’re expecting to find gold and jewels - what they find instead, are Marina and her flipping-cool girl gang of mermaids. When the Sacred Coconut mysteriously disappears from the island, chaos ensues, and the Pirates and Mermaids must band together, along with singing parrot Rita Conchita, to try and save the day.
With a cast of unforgettable characters - including Isla, the queen of the Island, seasick pirate Jack and the super-shy mermaid Myrtle - mermaids and pirates fuses salsa-style choreography with calypso-infused songs and plenty of laughs. This hilarious show celebrates the magic of the Caribbean and uplifts the importance of bravery and working together, and is perfect for the whole family.
The Creative Team of Mermaids and Pirates
Mermaids and Pirates is created by Perform Productions. Perform Productions create feel-good and fun shows for children, as well as running drama classes for children aged 4-12, which focus on building children’s confidence and self-esteem. Perform Productions was founded by Will Barnett and Lucy Quick. Their previous shows include Magical Merlin in the West End, Jungle Rumble, Midnight in the Toyshop, and The Dream.
