Kate Prince and Sting’s acclaimed collaboration Message in a Bottle returns to the West End for a third time, with the musician's back catalogue soundtracking an uplifting story of hope and humanity at the Peacock Theatre.

What is Message in a Bottle about?

When joyous celebrations in the village of Bebko are disrupted by an attack, siblings Leto, Mati, and Tana must embark on dangerous journeys to survive. Will they find their way back to each other?

Message in a Bottle is a thrilling dance-theatre show from Olivier Award-winning choreographer Kate Prince, inspired by and set to songs from Grammy Award-winner Sting and leading audiences through a story inspired by the international refugee crisis.

The show mixes an impressive number of dance styles, high-energy footwork and stunning athleticism to produce an exhilarating story of perseverance, survival and kindness, and was praised by The Guardian for its, “infectious, pressing energy that boils over the edge of the stage”.

Message in a Bottle is Prince’s latest hit, following her work on Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Sylvia at the Old Vic, and projects with ZooNation dance company.

Sting’s Music in the Message in a Bottle Dance Show

Former frontman of The Police, Sting’s back catalogue is one of the most recognisable in music history. In Message in a Bottle, his biggest hits and deep cuts from his albums are the backing rhythm to an energetic and powerful performance. Expect to hear songs including “Every Breath You Take”, “Roxanne”, and “Walking On The Moon”.

What dance style is Message in a Bottle?

Message in a Bottle combines contemporary, hip hop and street dance styles to convey the emotional beats of this exhilarating and thoughtful story. It is created by Kate Prince and her company, ZooNation.

Prince founded ZooNation after being inspired by backing dancers she encountered whilst working as a choreographer for music acts both on television and in music videos. ZooNation brings their talents to the foreground by creating narrative dance productions strongly influenced by hip hop music and culture. Their previous productions include Some Like It Hip Hop and Into the Hoods.
