Ian McKellen’s honkingly good panto

What’s good for the goose is good for the West End! Ian McKellen is giving his best panto dame turn in the hilarious Mother Goose at the Duke of York’s Theatre.

Mother Goose and her husband Vic run an Animal Sanctuary for waifs and strays, and live a simple but good life in an abandoned Debenhams. Their charitable nature is soon tested, though, when a magical goose turns up… will their heads be turned by the allure of fame and fortune?

Stage and screen legend Ian McKellen stars as Mother Goose, opposite John Bishop as Vic.

This brand-new Mother Goose panto is the ultimate Christmas treat for the whole family, full of fun, farce and physical comedy that will surprise and delight. It’s cooked up by the genius minds of Jonathan Harvey and Cal McCrystal, who bring tap-dancing puppets, fairies with surprisingly strong vocals, and more mayhem than you can shake a stick at.

Take a gander at Mother Goose tickets this year… this starry team are in London for just six weeks, and will have you quacking up in your seats!

Ian McKellen relishes this performance and looks like he's loving every second. Every innuendo and double entendre - he works so well with John Bishop & Oscar. This tour will blow the socks off anyone who sees it too.

So much fun! Absolute legend in Sir Ian of course but John Bishop does a great job, Oscar C-M is sensational, as was Anna Casey - and special mention to the King of Gooseland, who certainly stole a big section of the show in the second half!
