Pride Musical to Transfer to Bridge Theatre London

It has been announced that the stage adaptation of Pride is set to transfer to the Bridge Theatre in November. Based on Stephen Beresford’s 2014 film of the same name, the musical will receive a transfer following a sell-out season at the National Theatre and premiere in Cardiff earlier this year. Pride is based on a remarkable true story and a subsequent award-winning film set during the 1984 miners’ strike, centres on a group of friends who formed Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners, or LGSM. The musical, which reunites director Matthew Warchus (Matilda the Musical) and writer Stephen Beresford (The Last of the Haussmans), follows the friends as they showcase the extraordinary power of ordinary people coming together when they support a small village in Wales.

Protest anthems, pop, rock, disco and Welsh choral tradition inspire the original score by Christopher Nightingale, Josh Cohen and DJ Walde. A huge hit with audiences and critics, Pride really is one of the most talked about shows of 2026!

The cast for Pride at Bridge Theatre includes Samuel Barnett as Jonathan, Matthew Durkan as Mike, Gillian Elisaas Gwen, Chris Jenkins as Gethin, Darren Lawrence as Cliff, Kirsty Malpass as Hefina, Madeleine Morgan in the Ensemble, Sarah Pugh as Siân, Caroline Sheen as Maureen, Courtney Stapleton as Steph and Matthew Woodyatt as Dai.
