Catch a World Premiere With Stiletto Musical Tickets

Passion, music and intrigue fill Charing Cross Theatre with the world premiere of new musical Stiletto. Created by Olivier Award winner Tim Luscombe and Grammy Award nominee Matthew Wilder, this exhilarating show about a young man with a beautiful voice, and the Venetian society that threatens to tear him from his lover, is a must-see for anyone with their finger on the pulse of Theatreland’s future hits.

What is the Stiletto musical about?

In 18th-century Venice, opportunity is in the air and the city is bustling with dreamers. Amongst them is Marco, a young man who was castrated as a child to preserve his beautiful singing voice. Opera singers are the rock stars of their day, and Marco has the makings of a Jagger or Bowie - if he can catch the eye of a rich and powerful patron.

When he meets talented Gioia in the market square, her gift for music and status as an outsider - the daughter of an African slave - strikes a familiar chord with him; they soon fall in love. But when he introduces Gioia to society and his wealthy patron Contessa Azzurra, the night ends with a body on the floor and his beloved in prison.

Marco must overcome the demons of his past and the corrupt authorities of the present to free her. Can he manage it?

The Creative Team

This exciting new show has music & lyrics by three-time Grammy nominee Matthew Wilder, who is best known for helping to pen the songs in Disney’s Mulan. Wilder later collaborated on the comedy musical Princesses, a riff on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s novel A Little Princess.

Wilder’s songs are joined by Olivier Award nominee Tim Luscombe’s thrilling book, packed with intrigue and revelations as Marco’s journey unfolds. Luscombe is a British playwright and director with credits including Hungry Ghosts at Orange Tree Theatre and EuroVision at Drill Hall and the West End.
