Legendary entertainer Tommy Steele returns to the West End to star in a production of The Glenn Miller Story, playing for a limited 7-week season at the London Coliseum. Charting the rise and fall of the big band leader, the production is a musical celebration that documents music that defined an era.

Legendary entertainer Tommy Steele returns to the London Coliseum, over 60 years since he made his legitimate debut in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Starring in The Glenn Miller Story show, Steele heads up the ultimate musical celebration of a big band singer that defined an era, playing for a strictly limited 7-week season at the West End theatre.

The Glenn Miller Story chronicles the Iowa-born musician’s rise to fame, before his untimely death, from humble beginnings milking cows to his revolutionary work as a composer, arranger and performer in the swing era. Featuring some of his greatest hits, including "In the Mood", "Moonlight Serenade" and "Chattanooga Choo Choo", the show is a celebration of the big band leader who helped define an era of music.

Highly regarded as Britain’s first rock star, Tommy Steele boasts a long and illustrious career as an entertainer, with music including his 1957 number one “Singing the Blues” and starring roles in movie musicals such as Half a Sixpence and Singin’ in the Rain. With two turns in Scrooge at the London Palladium, Steele broke the record of becoming the performer with the most headlined shows.

Further casting includes Marti Webb, alongside Autumn Draper, Charlie Tighe, Devon McKenzie-Smith, Howard Samuels, Holly Rostron, Jessica Ellen, Jordan Oliver, Linal Haft, Myles Brown, Oliver Ramsdale, Siobhan Diffin, Tim Maxwell-Clarke and Tom Sowinski.

Produced by Bill Kenwright, The Glenn Miller Story features dance by Olivier Award-winning choreographer Bill Deamer, whose theatre credits include Top Hat, Cats and Evita. The production is directed by Bob Tomson and Bill Kenwright and includes design by Mark Bailey.

Tommy Steele claims to be one of Miller’s biggest fans and is honoured to play the role of such an important musical figure.
