Raymond Briggs' enduring Christmas classic, The Snowman, tells the story of an enchanting friendship kindled between a young boy and magical snowman as they embark on a musical journey through the starry winter night.

The adaptation of Raymond Briggs' novel melds charming visual storytelling with a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack to create an enduring classic In the depths of winter a young boy builds a snowman, only to find that on the stroke of midnight his creation has come to life. The two embark on a magical adventure across the star and snow-filled sky. An aerial escapade ensues as the pair dart across the land and right across the sea through the shimmering aurora - encountering dancing penguins, the Ice Princess and Father Christmas himself before escaping the clutches of the dangerous Jack Frost. The Snowman is set to Howard Blake’s beautifully emotive score, with choreography by Robert North, directed by Bill Alexander. Ruari Murchison’s entrancing design coupled with Tim Mitchell’s magnificent lighting combine to create dazzling visual spectacular guaranteed to captivate audiences young and old.

Fantastic, as it takes me back to my childhood and reminds me of all the good memories we had as children, myself and my younger brother at Christmas with mum and dad and the rest of the family, and no one can take those memories away from you.
