Henry and Clare meet, fall in love and get married, but it doesn't happen in that order. The Time Traveller's Wife musical is the ultimate story of love and patience, as Clare waits for her husband on his unexpected, unpredictable and sometimes dangerous journeys back to her.

Based on Audrey Niffenegger's award-winning novel and the film, starring Rachel McAdams, this brand new musical opens in London following an acclaimed premiere at Storyhouse Chester in 2022. Its powerful message about love enduring through anything - even the most unexpected of hurdles - has touched a chord with readers for years, and is even more magical on stage.

The Time Taveller’s Wife Musical Creative Team

Powerhouse musicians Joss Stone and Dave Stewart's (Eurythmics) soaring original songs lead us through this fantastic musical. It is directed by Bill Buckhurst, with a book by Lauren Gunderson, additional music by Nick Finlow and additional lyrics by Kait Kerrigan

With stunning special effects, including illusions from Chris Fisher (Back to the Future), it promises to enthrall and surprise with its tale of hope and heartbreak, and you will be left astonished at how Henry’s appearances and disappearances are pulled off on stage.

Who is in The Time Traveller’s Wife Musical?

David Hunter and Joanna Woodward star as Henry and Clare, reprising their roles from the Chester world premiere. Hunter’s credits include Waitress and Kinky Boots, while Woodward last appeared as understudy Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman: The Musical.

Further casting includes Tim Mahendran as Gomez. Hiba Elchikhe as Charisse, and Ross Dawes as Henry’s father.
