Following the death of their youngest brother, Tom, the Darling children can't quite believe he is gone. Then one night, Wendy Darling hears a knock on her window and discovers it is Peter Pan, the boy who has never grown up and who lives in Neverland, a place where the Lost Boys live. If Tom is just lost, he must be in Neverland, so Wendy and her brothers Michael and John fly off on an adventure to Neverland to try and find Tom and bring him home. Along the way, the Darling’s encounter a quirky cast of characters including mermaids, pirates, talking shadows, the fearless Tiger Lily and the fairy Tinkerbell. But there are darker forces at play, and Wendy, Peter and their friends must battle against the sinister Captain Hook to save Neverland, and learn what it truly means to grow up.
Wendy and Peter Pan first premiered at the RSC in 2013 to critical acclaim and received another RSC run in 2015. Toby Stevenson gives a wonderful Hook. This is a really lush production, well worth catching and one for kids and adults alike. Lots to see in terms of beautiful set and plenty of flying and a twist on the age old story.
