West Side Story is the classic dance musical set in an Upper Westside New York neighbourhood, in the mid 1950’s. Rivalry is rife between two teenage gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, who are both of different ethnic backgrounds. When young Jet Tony falls for Maria, sister of the hot-tempered leader of the Sharks, love and loyalty come under question. A dynamic new cast lead West Side Story, with Katie Hall (Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables) as Maria and Louis Maskell (Scrooge – the Musical) as Tony. Further cast members include Djalenga Scott (Chicago, The Rocky Horror Show) as Anita and Jack Wilcox (Singin’ in the Rain, Wicked) as Riff. Joey McKneely directs and choreographs the production, using Robbins’ full, original choreography.
