44 The Musical Tickets

Daryl Roth Theatre, New York

This hilarious satirical musical tells the absolutely true story of Barack Obama’s presidency… as sort of remembered by Joe Biden.

44 The Musical in New York City!

Hilarious satirical musical 44, which tells the story of Barack Obama’s presidency as you’ve truly never seen it before, comes to New York City for a strictly limited run this fall. The musical opens Off-Broadway at the Daryl Roth Theatre, just off Union Square, following smash-hit runs in Chicago and Los Angeles. 44 The Musical is “smart, sophisticated satire” (Chicago Tribune) - secure your tickets today!

What is the musical 44 about?

In 2009, Barack Obama was elected as the 44th president of the United States and was the first African-American to take the office - an event that made the history books (before they were banned in almost all states) and completely, totally ended racism forever. Obviously. 44 The Musical is the definitely accurate story of Obama’s time as president… as told by how Joe Biden, sorta, kinda, maaaybe remembers it.

This irreverent and hilarious musical charts Obama’s presidential rise through a melting pot of musical styles, and is populated by a cast of familiar political figures as you’ve never seen them before. Think smooth Motown tones as Obama delivers “How Black is Too Black?”, Sarah Palin giving her best death metal-scream in “Drill Me Baby”, and “Filibusters”, a Dr Seuss-inspired rap by Ted Cruz and Mitch McConnell.

This “unofficial, unsanctioned musical” is written by a real-life ex-staff member of Obama’s and premiered in Los Angeles to critical acclaim in early 2025. 44 enjoyed a limited run in Chicago this summer, before arriving in New York City for a strictly limited Off-Broadway season this fall. Book today for a musical that’s “Second City meets Saturday Night Live” (Let's Play Theatrical Reviews).
