Die Zauberflöte Tickets

Metropolitan Opera House

Mozart’s hugely popular opera combines fairytale elements, music, dialogue and spectacle in an acclaimed production at the Met Opera.

Mozart’s magical and mischievous singspiel

Mozart’s beloved fable Die Zauberflöte receives it first new Met Opera staging in 19 years, in a bold and striking vision that makes this story of mysticism, comedy, love and enlightenment even more compelling.

In a faraway kingdom, Prince Tamino is on a mission to rescue Pamina, the Queen of the Night’s daughter. But his quest is far from simple, and he soon finds himself facing a series of trials on the path to enlightenment.

Taking the form of a singspiel or song-play, Die Zauberflöte opera combines music and dialogue.

Director Simon McBurney’s production was hailed by The Wall Street Journal as “the best [...] I’ve ever witnessed of Mozart’s opera”. Theatrical flourishes, mischief and magic leap from the stage, thanks to its dynamic use of projections, sound effects and acrobatics.

Nathalie Stutzmann conducts the Met Orchestra, who perform from a raised pit and interact with the cast, which includes soprano Erin Morley as Pamina, tenor Lawrence Brownlee as Tamino, and soprano Kathryn Lewek as the Queen of the Night.

Spectacle and fairytale combine to make Die Zauberflöte tickets a must-purchase for this year’s season at the Met Opera, running through June 10 2023.
