Don’t miss this brand new revival of David Mamet’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Glengarry Glen Ross at the Palace Theatre. With a star-studded cast including Succession’s Kieran Culkin, Better Call Saul stars Bob Odenkirk and Michael McKean and comedian Bill Burr, this thrilling play delves into the corrupt, capitalistic world of four Chicago real estate agents who would do anything to make a sale and live by one key rule - “Always be closing!”What is the play Glengarry Glen Ross about?
Set over two days, this acerbic drama focuses on four agents at a real estate sales company in Chicago, as they do whatever it takes to shift undesirable properties for overinflated prices. When the unseen owners of the company declare a sales contest, the top salesman is promised the grand prize of a Cadillac - whilst the two worst performers will lose their jobs. Ruthless upstart Ricky Roma is top of the board and the other men - Shelley Levene, the previous star-seller who has fallen from grace, timid George Aaronow and loudmouth Dave Moss - will do anything to knock him off his perch. When an office robbery adds extra pressure, backstabbing, betrayal and bribery ensue as each man scrambles for the top spot.Glengarry Glen Ross premiered at London’s National Theatre in 1983 to critical acclaim and opened on Broadway the following year, where it was nominated for four Tony Awards, with Joe Mantegna taking the win for Best Actor. In 1992 a film adaptation was made, starring Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon and Alec Baldwin, which was nominated for an Academy Award.
