After learning about his mother’s death, country music superstar Strings McCrane starts to question his purpose, his career, and the meaning of his life thus far. Abandoning his fame and fortune, McCrane returns to his hometown in Tennessee to transition back to his old life. Expecting to be met in a warm embrace, his return is not as well received as he would have hoped in this tragicomedy. Superstardom is not outrun easily, and every action has its consequences. Can McCrane handle what will be thrown at him? Adam Driver stars as Strings McCrane in Hold on to Me Darling. His illustrious career includes some of the most beloved films of recent years. Making his Broadway debut in 2010 with his role in Mrs. Warren’s Profession, his career trajectory started to skyrocket after receiving three consecutive Primetime Emmy nominations for his role in HBO’s Girls alongside Lena Dunham and Jemima Kirke. In addition to his significant role in the Star Wars universe, Driver has starred in Marriage Story, BlacKkKlansman, House of Gucci, and Ferrari.

Driver returned to Broadway in 2011 for his role in Man and Boy, and most recently in Burn This in 2019. Off-Broadway, he’s performed in Angels in America and Look Back in Anger. His remarkable versatility and commanding presence make him a standout in both film and theater.
