In this captivating and compassionate play, single mother Mary Jane is in a difficult situation. As she cares for her chronically ill son, she faces struggles that seem almost impossible to overcome and uses optimism and humor to keep her going. The women around her bolster her with wisdom and support, but will inner strength and a makeshift family help her through?

Mary Jane is a “beautiful and remarkable” (The New Yorker) play that premiered in 2017 at Yale Repertory Theatre to huge acclaim. The New York Times went as far as hailing it “the most profound” of playwright Amy Herzog’s works. The playwright was nominated for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for 4000 Miles, with other credits including Belleville and the Jessica Chastain-starring revival of A Doll’s House on Broadway.

The show is directed by Anne Kauffman (The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window).
