Patriots Broadway Tickets On Sale Soon
Take an exhilarating glimpse behind the curtains of Russian politics as Peter Morgan’s (The Crown) “lusciously livewire” (The Telegraph) Patriots transfers from London’s West End to Broadway, starring Emmy Award nominee Michael Stuhlbarg as Boris Berezovsky. This gripping history play is an unmissable account of the billionaire kingmaker who shaped Russia’s destiny, playing at the Barrymore Theatre for a strictly limited season. What is Patriots about?
It is 1991, and the Soviet Union has fallen. A new Russia is about to emerge from the rubble, and oligarchs rule the roost. None are more powerful than billionaire Boris Berezovsky, and when a successor to President Yeltsin is needed, he decides to back the little-known deputy mayor of St. Petersburg, Vladimir Putin. Power, influence and loyalty are fleeting, however, and Putin’s rise soon threatens to trigger Berezovsky’s fall.Playing out like a Shakespearean battle of wills, Patriots is “sharp, taught political drama” (The Evening Standard) that will have you on the edge of your seat. After a five-star world premiere at London’s Almeida Theatre, followed by a hit West End season, it is now one of the top plays to see in New York.

Interesting play with excellent acting. The play did not drag but I could see how some get bored by the political discourse.
