About the Radio City Music Hall
Located within the Rockefeller Center, in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, Radio City Music Hall is an iconic piece of New York City history.
Nicknamed "The Showplace of the Nation", Radio City opened in 1932, with a majestic Art Deco design by Edward Durell Stone and Donald Deskey. Home to the legendary Rockettes, Radio City has also hosted many televised events including the Grammy, Tony, and Daytime Emmy Awards, as well as game shows such as Jeopardy! and Hollywood Squares.
Radio City was designated a New York City Landmark in the 70s, and underwent extensive renovation in the late 90s, with the Madison Square Garden group later taking over ownership of the venue. Many of the public areas of the venue still feature the work of artists commissioned as part of the original design - be sure to check out the sculptures in the foyer and lounges, and the artwork in the public restrooms!
Food, beverages and merchandise are all available for purchase. Radio City Music Hall is completely cashless, so bring a credit/debit card or use cellphone payments. A reverse ATM, which can convert your cash into a debit card, is also located inside the venue.
