The Rockettes are America’s longest-running dance group, and were founded in 1925 in St. Louis by choreographer Russell Markert. They began performing in NYC in 1932 and have been a festive staple ever since. In 1957, the Rockettes first performed at the Macy’s Day Parade, and have appeared in the Thanksgiving celebration annually. In 2007, the Rockettes were inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame. Known for their signature precision dance technique, The Rockettes have a strict height requirement and undergo rigorous training in jazz, ballet and tap - they even have their own training academy for aspiring dancers!
