Vanya Tickets

Lucille Lortel Theatre

Emmy Award nominee Andrew Scott swaps the Hot Priest for a classic European drama in this acclaimed one-man version of Uncle Vanya.

Vanya Tickets: A Thrilling Take on Chekhov

Direct from a sold-out run in London, Emmy Award nominee Andrew Scott (Fleabag; All of Us Strangers) takes on every single role in an epic new version of Uncle Vanya Off-Broadway. Chekhov’s darkly funny European classic is transformed into a radical one-man show by Tony Award winner Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time). Scott - who defined a generation of television as Moriarty and Hot Priest - reprises his “revelatory” (WhatsOnStage) performance in Vanya’s North American premiere at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

What is Vanya about?

Vanya and his niece Sonya have been custodians of their family estate for years, with only each other and the odd visit from local doctor, Astrov, breaking their solitude. But things are about to change. Sonya’s father is back with his glamorous, younger second wife and their arrival spells trouble…

Vanya is an exciting new version of Russian playwright Chekhov’s domestic drama, which infuses dark humor into a story of rivalry, unrequited love and resentment.

Andrew Scott in Vanya

BAFTA winner and Emmy nominee Andrew Scott swaps Hot Priest’s dog collar for a variety of faces and characters in Vanya, where the full kaleidoscope of human emotion and frailty are thrown into sharp relief. In London, his performance was declared a “tour-de-force” (London Theatre) and “thrillingly virtuoso” (The Guardian), making his appearance Off-Broadway an incredible opportunity to see his skills up close.

In the US, Scott is best known for his standout role as Hot Priest in Fleabag and recently appeared in the haunting indie movie All of Us Strangers opposite Paul Mescal. His captivating stage performances include Hamlet and Present Laughter, for which he won an Olivier Award.

Don’t miss your chance to see Scott in Vanya, as he embodies every comic and tragic beat with breathtaking skill.
