Opens 8th July

A woman’s zest for life is at the heart of this new comedy, performed by one of the great theatrical treasures of this country.

Allegra in London

Hailed as a “quirky comedy bursting with joy” (Theatre South East), Dame Maureen Lipman returns to the West End stage this summer in a limited run of Peter Quilter’s fresh, new heartwarming comedy, Allegra. Playing at the Harold Pinter Theatre, located near Trafalgar Square, join Allegra, whose joyful impulse to sing everywhere she goes brings both delight and chaos to the people around her. Secure your tickets for the show’s West End debut today!

What Is Allegra About?

The comedy introduces us to Allegra, a woman who has a real zest for life and carries an irresistible urge to sing. Wherever she goes, whether she’s at home, in the streets or even at the local shops and cafes, this joy spills unapologetically into the real world and impacts those around her. Whilst her devoted brother Ronan and her carer Anna do their best to keep life steady for Allegra, they also try to protect her without dimming the light that makes her who she is.

The History of Allegra

Allegra is penned by the Olivier and Tony Award-nominated playwright, Peter Quilter, whose credits include End of the Rainbow and Glorious!. The show made its debut at Wycombe Swan Theatre as part of a limited UK tour. Now Allegra heads to the West End’s Harold Pinter Theatre.
