Ambassadors Theatre

After a sensational, sold-out season at London’s Arts Theatre, Carol Harrison’s new musical All or Nothing – The Mod Musical transfers to the Ambassadors Theatre for an extended West End season. Charting the rise and fall of mod band Small Faces, the production features smash-hit songs from the band’s back catalogue.

Following a sensational, sold-out run at London’s Arts Theatre, Carol Harrison’s hugely successful All or Nothing – The Mod Musical transfers to the Ambassadors Theatre for an extended West End season. Set in 1965, the jukebox musical charts the rise and fall of popular East End band Small Faces.

One of the most influential mod groups of the 1960’s, it was founded by Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Kenney Jones, and Jimmy Winston. As quickly as the group made it big, jealousy and betrayal rocked them, and Small Faces ended up disbanding in 1969, leaving a huge legacy in the Britpop movement.

Exploring their rocky career in the industry, the sensational jukebox musical contains some of the group’s most popular numbers, including "Whatcha Gonna Do About It", "Tin Soldier", "Lazy Sunday", "Itchycoo Park" and, of course, "All or Nothing".

Carol Harrison writes and directs, with the musical featuring the music and lyrics of Small Faces. Harrison is an actor and writer, best-known for playing Louise Raymond on EastEnders, as well as starring in the BBC sitcom Brushstrokes for five years. She stars as Kay Marriott opposite Chris Simmons (Holby City, The Bill, Casualty) as Steve Marriot.

Additional casting for the Ambassadors Theatre run includes Stefan Edwards as Kenney Jones, Stanton Wright as Ronnie Lane, Alexander Gold as Ian McLagan, Karis Anderson as P. P. Arnold, Russell Floyd as Don Arden and Rikki Lawton as Jimmy Winston, with Samuel Pope and Mark Newnham alternating as Young Steve Marriot, as well as Danielle Johnson, Daniel Beales, Alfie Harrison-Foreman, Dani Acors, Emily Daniels, Tamsin January and Connor Barrister.

Further creative team includes choreographer Cameron Hall, designer Rebecca Brower, lighting designer Peter Small, sound designer Chris Drohan and musical supervisor Pat Davey. A cast recording and a 15-track LP have been released alongside the popular production.

All or Nothing – The Mod Musical has proved a massive West End hit, encompassing the catchy tunes and importance of Small Daces to British pop culture. The production runs at the Ambassadors Theatre from 28 March to 12 May 2018.

Great story telling the history of the band, The Small Faces. I did not know them but did recognise the music - all performed by actor musicians very well. Was a wonderful surprise and well worth seeing!
