Amélie the Musical Tickets

The Other Palace, London

Closed 1st February 2020

After touring the UK, quirky Broadway gem Amélie the Musical is set to run at The Other Palace over Christmas. Based on the hit French film, this sweet show about a quiet dreamer’s chance at love opens on 29 November 2019.

Sweet and quirky love story Amélie the Musical will call in at The Other Palace this winter, following a UK tour. Starring French performer Audrey Brisson and Danny Mac, the story of a quiet dreamer finding love is sure to captivate audiences all over again as it’s adapted from screen to stage. Based on the five-time Academy Award nominated film, Amélie the Musical follows a young woman whose unconventional upbringing has left her sweet but shy. Spending most of her time living inside her own head, Amélie begins to spread her gift for helping others with acts of kindness. But when her own shot at happiness and love appears, this quiet but idealistic dreamer must learn to speak loudly about how she really feels. Amélie the Musical premiered at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in 2015 and transferred to Broadway with Samantha Barks in the title role. French actress Audrey Bisson heads up the UK tour and London runs, having previously appeared in Pinocchio at the National Theatre and The Grinning Man at Bristol Old Vic. She is joined by Strictly Come Dancing finalist Danny Mac (Wicked, On the Town). The musical is adapted from Guillaume Laurant and Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s film, with a book by Craig Lucas (The Light in the Piazza), music by Daniel Messé, and lyrics by Messé and Nathan Tysen (Tuck Everlasting). Michael Fentiman (RSC: Titus Andronicus) directs. With a whimsical story about kindness and the importance of dreaming at its core, Amélie the Musical at The Other Palace is the perfect festive treat. It opens on 29 November 2019.

Absolutely adored Amelie the musical. I was a huge fan of the film so I was nervous that they might ruin something I love so dearly but they did such a fantastic stage adaptation that was faithful to the spirit of the movie whilst still adding its ow Read more

Very quirky and whimsical, just like the film. Very talented cast who all play at least one instrument, and very clever staging (lots of props are hidden in the 2 pianos on stage). I found the French accents a bit difficult to understand though!
