Beetlejuice Tickets
Beetlejuice the Musical, the smash-hit Broadway comedy, based on Tim Burton’s cult classic film is set to open in London soon.
Please note that this is a rumoured production. Any information on dates, casting and venue are subject to change
Currently taking Broadway by storm, Beetlejuice the Musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes. Luckily, Lydia is totally obsessed with “the whole being dead thing” and befriends Beetlejuice, the ghost-with-the-most from six feet under.
Tim Burton’s much loved 1988 film was a huge critical and commercial success, starring Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice, as well as Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis and Winona Ryder. A firm Halloween classic, the film is one of Burton’s most successful, alongside Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Beetlejuice the Musical features a toe-tappingly catchy score by Eddie Perfect, and a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King. As well as all new songs, the musical includes two of the film’s iconic musical numbers – “Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)” and “Jump in the Line (Shake, Senora)”.
Alex Brightman (School of Rock) originated the role of Beetlejuice. The cast also features Sophia Anne Caruso (Lazarus) playing Lydia, Rob McClure (who will soon create the title role of Mrs Doubtfire on Broadway) as Adam Maitland, and Kerry Butler (Mean Girls) as Barbara Maitland. No casting has been announced for the London production.
The musical is playing at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway until June 2020 and will embark on a US tour in late 2020. A timeline for the rumoured London production has not been confirmed yet.
Buckle up London, it’s showtime! Beetlejuice the Musical promises a must-see spectacular, with a story that is as heart-warming as hilarious.
