Beetlejuice Musical in London

Beetlejuice... Beetlejuice… Beetlejuice! The new musical comedy based on Tim Burton’s iconic film is set to give London the fright of its life at last! The Tony-nominated smash hit has long been rumoured to come and haunt the West End, and now comes to the Prince Edward Theatre, just off Old Compton Street, from Spring 2026. Beetlejuice the Musical is “screamingly good fun!” (Variety) - secure your tickets today!

What is the musical Beetlejuice about?

Beetlejuice the Musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets mild-mannered, recently deceased couple, the Maitlands, and a wildcard demon with a thing for stripes. Luckily, Lydia is totally obsessed with “the whole being dead thing” and befriends Beetlejuice, the ghost-with-the-most from six feet under. Together, Lydia and Beetlejuice hatch a plan to scare Lydia’s absent dad into paying attention to her, but when the Juice is loose, surely only chaos can ensue…

Tim Burton’s much-loved 1988 film was a huge critical and commercial success, starring Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice, as well as Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis as Adam and Barbara Maitland and Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz. A firm Halloween classic, the film is one of Burton’s most successful, alongside Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Beetlejuice the Musical opened on Broadway in 2019, earning eight Tony nominations, before heading out on a US tour in late 2020. The show has since returned to Broadway briefly in 2023, and comes to Broadway again, again, again this spooky season for a limited run. Beetlejuice has been highly anticipated for a London transfer - so make sure to “jump in the line” and snap up your tickets today!

Who are the cast of Beetlejuice the Musical?

We can’t say their names just yet, as casting for Beetlejuice the musical is to be announced!

Alex Brightman (School of Rock) originated the role of Beetlejuice on Broadway in 2019, alongside Sophia Anne Caruso (Lazarus) as Lydia, Rob McClure (Mrs Doubtfire on Broadway) as Adam Maitland, and Kerry Butler (Mean Girls) as Barbara Maitland.

Who are the creative team of Beetlejuice the Musical?

Beetlejuice the Musical features a frighteningly catchy score by Eddie Perfect (Australia’s Got Talent, King Kong the Musical), and a book by Scott Brown (Sharp Objects, Manhattan) and Anthony King (Broad City, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp). As well as all new songs, like “The Whole ‘Being Dead Thing’” and viral sensation “Say My Name”, the musical also includes two of the film’s iconic musical numbers – “Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)” and “Jump in the Line (Shake, Senora)”.
