Cake: The Marie Antoinette Playlist Tickets On Sale Now

Catch one of the most exciting new British musicals in London, where gig, ballet and history collide, as Cake: The Marie Antoinette Playlist returns for a full run.

After hit tryout performances at the Lyric Theatre in 2023, West End star Zizi Strallen (Mary Poppins) and original SIX Queen Renée Lamb star in this tale of gossip, scandal and crime, produced by Paul-Taylor Mills (Heathers) and written by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm (Emilia). Join one of history’s most infamous monarchs as she settles into her new royal residence, The Other Palace.

About Cake, the Marie Antoinette Musical

Few historical figures are as vibrant and infamous as Marie Antoinette, but how well do we really know her story? In 18th-century France, the Queen’s reign was blighted by gossip and scandal. But when Marie is implicated in a crime to defraud the crown jewellers of a precious necklace, it’s not just her reputation on the line - the monarchy and country are both at stake.

Mixing a multi-genre pop score with the visuals of upper-class excess, Cake retells a story that sparked a revolution. It was commissioned by Paul Taylor-Mills, the producer behind My Son’s a Queer (But what can you do?) and Heathers, with a book by Olivier Award-winner Morgan Lloyd Malcolm (Emilia) & Tasha Taylor-Johnson and score by Taylor-Johnson & Jack McManus.

Cake premiered at Battersea’s power-engine of new work, Turbine Theatre, as part of MT Fest 2021 before heading out on a UK tour.

Cake Musical West End Cast

Musical theatre star Zizi Strallen reprises her role as Marie Antoinette, following performances in Mary Poppins and Strictly Ballroom. Renée Lamb joins her as Jeanne; Lamb is best known as the original Catherine of Aragon in SIX, with other credits including Be More Chill.
