Closed 12th September 2021

A starry cast assembles for Nick Payne’s romantic, heartbreaking play about free will and destiny. Catch actors including Russell Tovey, Sheila Atim, Chris O’Dowd and Zoë Wanamaker in a strictly limited season at the Vaudeville Theatre.

A play with infinite possibilities

The stars are aligning for a new staging of Constellations in London. Playwright Nick Payne’s two-hander about free will and the multiverse opens at the Vaudeville Theatre with a rotating cast including Russell Tovey and Zoë Wanamaker. Constellations is the story of a years-long relationship between beekeeper Roland and quantum physicist Marianne. As the couple move through romance, heartbreak, and illness, the immeasurable possibilities of self-determination unravel in this mesmerising production. Nick Payne’s play is directed by Michael Longhurst, in collaboration with the Donmar Warehouse and Wessex Grove. Longhurst previously directed the Tony and Olivier Award-nominated productions of Constellations at the Royal Court Theatre, and on Broadway. Casting for Constellations in the West End is suitably dazzling, with four acting duos performing on various dates (full information below): Sheila Atim and Ivanno Jeremiah, Peter Capaldi and Zoë Wanamaker, Omari Douglas and Russell Tovey, and Anna Maxwell Martin and Chris O’Dowd. In a world of infinite choice, don’t miss out on Constellations tickets. This stunning revival opens for a limited season from 18 June 2021.

Anna Maxwell Martin and Chris O'Dowd were a dynamic couple in this short but very interesting piece. Great connection between them with a range of scenes - some funny, some very sad. Brilliant acting from both

Loved the simple set design with illuminating glass globes and white balloons. Great to see Peter Capaldi and Zoe Wanamaker live on stage - both excellent. There are some funny moments in the play, the theme is interesting, but I was starting to get Read more

I saw Peter Capaldi & Zoë Wanamaker who were both incredible. The show is brilliant but doesn’t really go anywhere, the staging is exquisite and the lighting superb, I’m definitely going to book for another cast.
