F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic story of a man who ages in reverse becomes a dazzling folk musical set on the coast of Cornwall.

Benjamin Button Musical in London

Make every second count at the theatre this year with the award-winning Curious Case of Benjamin Button musical. Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic short story and relocated to a small Cornish fishing village, this foot-stomping, exhilarating folk show about love that defies the odds is a “marvellous” (The Telegraph) addition to the West End. Catch it at the intimate Ambassadors Theatre just off Shaftsbury Avenue - but beware, you may want to relive it again and again.

About The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Benjamin Button is not like other men. Under the curious and magical light of a full moon, not long after the First World War, he was born old. Fated to live a life in reverse, Benjamin grows more youthful each day, but all he wants to do is be accepted and fall in love. He is a curiosity in his sleepy fishing village, but will he ever find a place he belongs? Time and tide will tell, and soon his journey is affected by the eve of another war…

Drawn from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s boundless imagination and transported to a fishing village on the north coast of Cornwall, the mythology and wonder of Benjamin Button becomes a dazzling folk-musical, performed live by a fantastic actor-musician ensemble. It arrives in the West End following an acclaimed world premiere at Southwark Playhouse, where it garnered five-star reviews and an Off West End Theatre Award for Best Musical Production.

Creative Team

Writer and lyricist Jethro Compton and musician Darren Clark devised The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and its remarkable new setting on the English coast. It is the latest in a boom of diverse and imaginative new British musicals to transfer to the West End.
