Following a hugely successful debut concert performance at the London Palladium in 2016, cult musical Eugenius! returns to play a limited season at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Other Palace. Produced by Harry Potter and Willow star Warwick Davis, alongside Kevin Wood, the teenage love story receives its first full-scale production.
Eugenius! is the hilarious musical comedy that follows a comic-writing teenage boy who dreams of superheroes and villains. Teaming up with his best friends Janey and Feris, Eugene may be able to create his own Hollywood comic book movie. But first, he must discover the true meaning of growing up, by finding the superhero within, saving the world from evil and falling in love on the way!
With a book, music and lyrics by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins, Eugenius! received a concert performance in 2016, starring David Bedella, Marcus Brigstocke, Warwick Davis, Amy Lennox and Summer Strallen. Brian Blessed is set to voice some of the show, which features an original 80’s-inspired score, including tunes such as “Comic Book Kind of Love” and “Go Eugenius”.
Olivier Award-nominated Ian Talbot directs, after previously working as the Artistic Director of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre for 20 years. Credits include Annie Get Your Gun, Lend Me a Tenor and Million Dollar Quartet. Further creative team includes choreography by Aaron Renfree, design by Hannah Wolfe, sound design by Gareth Owen and lighting design by Andrew Ellis, with musical direction by Darren Lord.
