About Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World

When bold young heroine Jade sneaks off on a school trip at her local museum, she decides to take a peek behind the scenes at the not-yet-open Gallery of Greatness. This isn’t just any exhibition however, and Jade is soon coming face-to-face with some of the most famous and groundbreaking women who ever lived: Friday Kahlo, Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart, Marie Curie, Emmeline Pankhurst and many more!

The Fantastically Great Women musical is based on suffragette descendant Kate Pankhurst’s best-selling picture book, and since premiering at MAST Mayflower Studios in 2021, it has spread the joy of history, feminism and fist-pumping pop music across the UK. After successful summer seasons at Theatre Royal Stratford East and Edinburgh Fringe Festival, it now joins SIX and Hamilton as one of the West End’s best historical musicals that shake up the status quo.

Creative Team

It’s not just amazing women on stage at this hit musical: there is a team of them behind the scenes as well. Fantastically Great Women is adapted by Chris Bush, who also wrote the book for the Olivier Award-winning Standing at the Sky’s Edge, and Miranda Cooper, who has penned Number 1 songs for Girls Aloud and Kylie Minogue. It features pop-inspired music by Cooper and Jennifer Decilveo (Miley Cyrus, Beth Ditto) and is directed by Amy Hodge (Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear).
