Fortune Theatre accessibility

Getting into the Venue

There is step-free access to the Fortune Theatre main entrance, which is located on Russell Street. The Box Office is situated on the right as you enter the theatre foyer. A drop-off section is available on Russell Street.

Each section of the theatre must be reached by stairs, which all have handrails in place. Accessible areas are in the Dress Circle and Box A. Box A can be reached via an alternative side exit on Crown Court, with 5 steps down. Wheelchair users cannot be accommodated, but transfers are available. There is no adapted toilet or customer lift in the theatre.

Customer Assistance

Staff are on hand in the foyer, should assistance be required. Seat transfers are available into Row F of the Dress Circle and it is recommended that a wheelchair user bring a companion to assist. Staff are able to store wheelchairs or scooters for the duration of the performance.

If customers speak to the Manager upon arrival, it can be arranged that drinks are brought to access patrons in the auditorium.

How to Book

For those who need special assistance or wish to book wheelchair spaces, it is important to book in advance and notify the theatre of any special requirements. Discounted tickets are available for assisted performances.
