Adapted by James Duke, Edward Duke and Hugh Woolridge, Jeeves Takes Charge transports us to a world of country houses, terrifying aunts, engagements gone wrong and gentlemanly panic. Based on a short story by P.G. The History of Jeeves Takes Charge
Jeeves Takes Charge first debuted in London in 1980 by Barbara Dickson and Bernard Theobald with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh. It earned an Olivier Award for Edward Duke’s performance as Most Promising Newcomer. There was a subsequent production at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith.
The latest production, which also starred Sam Harrison, opened at the Theatre Royal Bath before acclaimed runs at the Jermyn Street Theatre and Tabard Theatre. This new staging at the Charing Cross Theatre, for a limited time, will precede a UK tour in 2027.

Hugh Woolridge directs the production. His directing credits include Chess in Concert,Sondheim Tonight, and the last staging of Jeeves Takes Charge at Theatre Royal Bath in 2024.
The rest of the creative team includes scenic design by Caite Hevner, lighting design by Tim Mitchell, and sound design by Paul Groothuis.
