About the Live Aid Musical
Just For One Day - named after Live Aid performer David Bowie’s iconic song “Heroes” - is the story of one event that cut through a generation. Political unrest, social revolution, financial boom and bust: the 1980s was a decade of change, challenge and noise. Right in the middle of it, one moment made 1.5 billion people come together. Live Aid was a landmark cultural and charitable event, with 70 artists performing for free in London and Philadelphia, and $127 million raised for famine relief.We’ve all seen the photos, watched the performances and maybe even been there ourselves, but now stories about what that day meant are ready to be shared. With permission from the Band Aid Charitable Trust, Just For One Day takes us behind the scenes to discover how Live Aid came to be.

Cast and Creative Team
The Live Aid musical is written by author and former Spitting Image contributor John O’Farrell. His other theatre work includes hit comedy musicals Something Rotten! and Mrs. Doubtfire The Musical.Luke Sheppard, who scored huge success with new musicals & Juliet and The Little Big Things, directs this show that “rocks in all the right ways” (WhatsOnStage). Get ready for a night of music, nostalgia and powerful performances as the cast and creative team recreate the magic at the Shaftesbury Theatre!
