What’s On at London Palladium

Although best known for its annual pantomime, the London Palladium has an exciting season of events all year round. Chief amongst these is their show-stopper summer musical, which sees crowds flock to the venue as the weather gets warmer. In 2024, Imelda Staunton makes her long-awaited return to the stage in Hello Dolly, a classic Broadway musical about a meddling matchmaker who soon finds herself being set up for romance. As one of the grandest theatres in the West End, the Palladium pulls out all the stops to deliver a magical theatre experience, and this is no exception.

About the London Palladium

The London Palladium is one of the most prestigious performance venues in the world and has played host to many legendary stars, including The Beatles, Judy Garland, Bruce Forsyth and Adele. The Palladium was designed by renowned theatre architect Frank Matcham and boasts beautiful period architecture, most of which has been retained today.

Pantomime has been associated with the venue since it opened in 1910 and some of the biggest stars of the day have performed in the annual Christmas tradition, such as Julie Andrews in Cinderella and Tommy Cooper in Robinson Crusoe. The Panto tradition was revived at the Palladium in 2016, following a 29-year break with an all-star cast including Paul O'Grady, Julian Clary and Dawn French.

Owned by Andrew Lloyd Webber's LW Theatres, the London Palladium sees a wide variety of musicals and one-off concerts and events performed on its vast stage. Notable productions include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Sound of Music. The Palladium is also regularly used to record television specials, such as BAFTA Awards and Britain's Got Talent. It has hosted the Royal Variety Performance an incredible 43 times - the most by a margin of over 30 compared to other popular venues such as Royal Albert Hall.
