Captivating Drama With Tickets for Manhunt

Step inside one of the UK’s most notorious criminal cases in Olivier Award winner Robert Icke’s latest play Manhunt. Inspired by the hunt for Raoul Moat, this intense production is an arresting and thought-provoking deep dive into a horrific crime that sparked a media storm. Book your tickets for this hotly anticipated world premiere at the Royal Court Theatre, and get ready to watch a masterful exploration of the man, and crime, behind the public frenzy.

What is Manhunt about?

Manhunt is inspired by the 2010 hunt for Raoul Moat, a former bouncer who became one of the UK’s most infamous fugitives. Soon after his release from prison, Moat shot his ex-girlfriend, killed her partner, and blinded a police officer, before going on the run. In the wake of his violence, a week-long manhunt across Northumberland began, with the nation tracking every twist and turn through their screens. It ended with a cornered Moat shooting himself.

Robert Icke brings his unique perspective to a crime that looms large in modern British history. With his signature blend of sharp dialogue and surgically precise moral dissection, Icke’s Manhunt is set to be a fascinating portrait of crime, media and human nature.

Cast and Creative Team

Manhunt is the latest play from Olivier Award-winning writer and director Robert Icke, who is one of the UK’s brightest theatre creatives. Celebrated for his boundary-pushing interpretations of classic texts - often rewriting and adapting them himself - Icke’s credits include The Doctor starring Juliet Stevenson, Hamlet starring Andrew Scott and Player Kings starring Ian McKellen.

Icke’s style has been described as “riveting, relentless, and daringly original” (The Times), full of “intense psychological realism” (Financial Times) and “fearless experimentation” (Variety). In this new drama, Icke moves away from reinventing classics to tackle a real-life story, but audiences can still expect his incredible skill for confronting complex moral and social issues to be centre-stage.
