The brand new interactive show for families runs at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse this summer. The Mechanicals went down in theatrical history long ago, when their first ever performance of Pyramus and Thisbe was a resounding success. Now they’re back to try their hand at play number two… but will all go to plan? With half an hour to go until curtain up and everyone sort-of ready, the Mechanicals’ magical masterpiece becomes a bit of a farce. Created for Shakespeare’s Globe in collaboration with Splendid Productions, Midsummer Mechanicals is a specially-created play aimed at children, directed by Lucy Cuthbertson and Kerry Frampton.
