What is the play My Master Builder about?

July 3 in the Hamptons. It’s nearly Independence Day and Elena Solness, a high-powered publishing exec, is preparing to throw a party in her husband’s honour. Henry Solness is an acclaimed architect and his latest creation might just be his magnum opus. If only their relationship was quite as stable… and it’s about to be shaken even more by the arrival of Mathilde, Henry’s former student.

As the evening progresses, Henry’s intimate connection with Mathilde is exposed, and the trio must reckon with uncomfortable truths that could change their lives forever.

Ewan McGregor in My Master Builder

Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actor Ewan McGregor (Fargo, Trainspotting ) is back on stage for the first time in 17 years, playing Henry Solness in this tense and intriguing new drama. There was not a huge cast for this play but the acting was great, the dialogue was fast moving, funny in parts & very engaging. I wanted to see Ewan McGregor in a live rather than a film role & he did not disappoint.

Don't understand the slightly mixed reviews, the show was immaculate and would recommend a watch. Heartfelt, thought provoking, passionate, captivating and even funny at times the script, timing and delivery from the cast was perfect.
